I maintain that a dark story can stay with the tone of the show.

As do I — I've seen it several times, and it's awesome. You can even do a dark story that completely chucks the tone of the show and still be awesome.

Just, you know, the most frequent tendency is for it to be gratuitous garbage because people want to put on their big-boy pants without having any idea what that means. Good dark stories work because they set a very precise atmosphere and give opportunities to explore facets of characters that you wouldn't otherwise see. Dark is a vehicle, not an end of itself.

Fan VA's blow my mind so often. She could work on projecting her singing a bit more, but she's got a good voice for it.

And of course I hardly think that'll be relevant to a game like this

Wow, that fighting is magic picture looks awesome. I think fluttershy should be a fun charector to play as well.

Regarding grimdarks: I've read quite a bit of grimdark fics. Some of them work amazingly {Fallout eqestria, growing pains, a precious rainbow}, some of them are.... less then good {Cupcakes, rainbow factory (Even though the song it's based off of is awesome), both of which belong in "Grimderp" territory}. Despite the up's and downs of the grimdark idea, I still look for grimdark stories because every now and then I find something amazing.

Anyone who wants to see a Cosmic Horror story pony-style, This

just finished and is a good way to spend a couple hours.

Celestia feels a little wrong in the last chapter, but otherwise it was good fun.

Pinkie Pie stopped in mid-bounce, staring at Saddle Stitch sternly as her face collapsed into a frown. "That's my letter, you're not allowed to take other pony's mail!"

"Yes but..." Saddle Stitch raised an eyebrow as he looked directly behind Pinkie, his mouth open in shock. "Oh no, look, a dragon!"

Pinkie Pie didn't respond. She kept her gaze firmly fixed on the interloper. "Seen one, seen them all."

Saddle Stitch grimaced. Then without missing a beat, he added "I mean, it's a gigantic flying donut from space which is shooting chocolate sprinkles and stealing all the trees!"

Pinkie Pie's expression did not change. "Seen one, seen them all, " she repeated.

Saddle Stitch thought for a bit. "A... butterfly?" he offered, having run out of ideas.

"What? WHERE!" Pinkie Pie's entire demeanour changed as she whirled around looking for the mysterious butterfly, enthusiastically peering out of the window.
