Not really. In the beginning, Pinkie has to specify little, and doesn't just say filly. My evidence, is that the mayor in the speech before the Summer Sun Celebration says, "Fillies and Gentlecolts" to everyone present, which was mostly adults.

Yes, I realize they are young horses in Real Life, but I don't believe it refers to young ponies in the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic universe. There is too many evidence pointing towards it referring to adult ponies for me to ignore.

I think you be reading into things too much. Simply put, "Mares and Gentlestallions" just isn't as catchy.

Well, even if they are equivalent to boys and girls, people do still refer to adults as boy or girl, from time to time. Just because in a lot of situations it sounds better than man or woman.

Well, "colt" rolls off the tongue easier than "stallion."

And the shows targeted to kids, and everyone seems to have some level of childishness.

Anyhoof Anywho, is it just me or is everything everypony has said made into a youtube macro?

I don't recall other shows getting as many "character says one line" videos.

The correct pluralization of Pegasus is Pegasi. It is a second declension noun, so one removes the ending to get the root (Pegas) and then adds an i (technically with a macron) to get the plural (Pegasi).
