I just call the little ponies "foals" when referring to both boys and girls. Though I call ponies like Big Mac stallions and the regular adults just colts. Not sure about little male ponies.

Speaking of the age things, why do so many people speculate the main cast being adults?

I guess it would make sense for Rarity, but everyone seems like a teenager at most, IMO. And sometimes younger, specially Pinkie.

OK can anypony help me think of ways to give ponies weapons? all I can think of is wing mounted blades.

In Sonic Rainboom she looked different from others.

On Pony weapons: just anything wrist-mounted would do. Blood Rayne sword thingies. Innumerable guns. Both pairs of legs could be armed. Ōkami had launchable glaives on Amaterasu's back, I think.

Armed ponies?

Well, theres saddlebag mounted weaponry, leg attatchements, unicrons can levitate anything, pegasi could have front hoof attatchements since they can fly so those would not hinder movement.

And the simplst of all, Cutlass Between The Teeth.

I think the ponies must be fairly close together age-wise since they all got their cutie marks at the same time. Plus Fillyshy looked older than the others did at that point, and she's a year older than Pinkie, who acts the youngest.

On Cutie Marks: Remember the Crusaders? Applebloom being the only one in her class without a mark?

So age isn't probobly too relevant.

And Fanon likes to think that even adults can be blank flanked.

I forget, do we know how old Scootaloo and Sweetie Belle are in relation to Applebloom?

Uh. It's probably best not to get too hung up on metaphor here. A cutie mark represents having found one's special talent, so an adult blank makes sense in those terms.

Well, fandom with ponies using weaponry normally has them attached to saddles, or held in their mouths, or in the case of unicorns just holding them with magic, or using some sort of complicated device like a battle saddle. Not sure what pegasi would do, but still.

When I was imaging one of my posible pony fic I created pony OC who is expy of Sam Quint from Jaws, he had some custom horshoe with small blade on it , just to make that scene with blackboard and later use it as weapon.

Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.

@terminology: My understanding is (though I may be mistaken)

"foal" = "baby" (gender-neutral)

"filly" = "little girl"

"colt" = "little boy"

"mare" = "woman"

"stallion" = "man"
