If anything, I think Twilight would be the Squishy Wizard. Devastating at a distance, but vulnerable up close.

I wonder if Zecora would count as a non-pony? She seems like she'd be a bit like Dhalism - sort of vaguely mystical special attacks. Maybe a poison-joke super attack?

Did'ja know that there was, at one point, an editor designed to allow you to make your own characters and patch them into the first super smash brothers? It was abandoned by the author midway through, unfortunately, but it might still be floating around. I have yet to search.

That's a possibility. But remember, she came 5th in the marathon, so she isn't completely without physical ability.

Hmmm... Maybe rarity could have different outfits? They'd work like fighting stances some characters have in other fighting games.

No offense to any Great And Powerful Trixie fans, but Trixie is much inferior compared to Twilight.

Ryu and Ken are atleast pretty equal with a few differences.

Also, for the non-pony character, I'm hoping for Gilda. Though Spike seems more likely.

... Let's just watch them put in Angel instead.

And the devteam said they wanted to make each character unique, so they will most likely try to avoid any Ryu and Ken things regarding fighting styles.

The dev team specifically stated they will only use canon characters from FIM.

Unless sea ponies appear in later seasons, they are 100% confirmed to not appear.

Well, the Cockatrice is a Monster of the Week, but still canon, so that is possibility. But I don't think that cock is in high demand or popular enough among the fandom, so most likely it won't make the cut. However, not an impossible chance. Could have a background cameo if theres an Everfree Forest stage?

Sweetey Bell, Apple Bloom and Scootaloo are very likely, having canon names and being surprisngly popular, despite pulling off the Spotlight-Stealing Squad thing two episodes a row.

Wait, I just thought... If theres an Everfree Forest stage, Zechora would seem likely to appear, since she lives there.

But at any rate, the game will only have the main six ponies at start when it's out.
