Nevermind that one German comic when Twilight got Celestia to have the sun up for longer so they could look for Spike.tongue

@Steve: I'd agree with that, but I'd also take quality show-related material over quality r34 or grimdark any day.

Also, probably the most useful piece of financial advice I've ever received is "be on time with the payments unless it's absolutely impossible". You save a ton of money in the long run if you don't have to pay late fees. Especially in regards to credit cards.

Oh yeah, paying on time is always a good idea - at LEAST the minimum, which is usually pretty cheap. It'll keep your credit score good, and a bad credit score, well, is bad. Really bad.

Personally I am trying to avoid the use of credit cards. Thanks to the goddamn American loans system I cannot avoid loans (Fucking college). But I can avoid putting myself in the shit hole by buying things I cannot afford (Besides an education).

Well, Effectively the only reason I use a credit card at all is to DEVELOP a credit rating in the first place. Were that not necessary I'd just pay directly.

Okay, guys. I was just playing Brütal Legend and I realized something. We need an Eddie Riggs pony, or by extension, a Jack Black pony. And we need to get Mistress Tara to do Litalicious.

@Syd - I loved the place I had my car loan through, I had a 15 day window to pay my bill in, as long as I paid it somewhere within that window they were happy.

I hate places that give you a set date and if you dont pay by that you get fined/credit score ding. Money isnt always there on an exact date, pay periods shift based on how many weeks in a month. And anyone that tells me I could "save" money so I would have it for that date hasnt lived hand to mouth like I usually do.

One bit of advice I've gotten is to only get loans on houses, because houses (for the most part) appreciate.

As long as you're timely with your payments are are paying above the minimum, loans are harmless. In fact, they're more or less necessary to buy any large-ticket items because a normal person simply never has that much money on hand at any one time.

Ive got a house loan and student loans. I dont think I could buy anything right now on credit if I wanted to because of the Student Loans. We tried to get financing to fix our roof but they said we were too risky sad We had to dig deep and spend our entire savings on it, but better a fixed roof than all the problems a leaky one can cause.

Keg: Pretty much what I do too.

EDIT: Turtle: *hugs*

Lurker: And in cases where one does actually have the money, there's often cases where it's more efficient to just put a smaller down payment, take on a loan and then invest the rest of the money for better overall returns.

Out of curiosity, would it be generally worse to not have a credit rating or to have a bad one?

@Turtle Sorry to hear that

Id say having a bad one, places will give you loans, albeit lousy ones with a bad one. People are less likely to take a risk on someone with NO credit score. (Especially in the US with the economy in the crapper like it is)

Steve: I picked up a box at Brony Con. The fandom in-jokes in the descriptions are just great.

I am going to go to my local comic store To see if the owner sold out like the capitalist he is to see if they carry it. and try to discreetly buy the card.

In fact. Be right back. I am going to see if the permanent loss in dignity and respect is worth visiting the comic book store on DND night for pony cards.

It's DND night. They have no right to mock your interests, so long as you're respectful of theirs.

Also, this is giving me pink elephant flashbacks.
