I think I generally manage to use them right. I mean, when you write essays and you have to make citations, you are supposed to put the citation before the period. You get marked down if you do it wrong.

@Pannic: Same here. Citations are a pain to format correctly, but at least you have to pay attention then.

Yeah, waffle batter and pancake batter are really really similar. I'm pretty sure you'd just end up with a pancake.
