Cadence never really got much characterization beyond being a generically good princess who got along with pretty much everypony. Admittedly there wasn't exactly a whole lot you could put into her in 45 minutes.

With RD committing suicide naturally.

She-Dash finds her other half after searching and struggling with her sex mania, but He-Dash refuses to be de-cloned and attacks She-Dash. After an intense battle, He-Dash is taken against his will to be integrated into She-Dash. Having gained his memories, Dash regrets having to "kill" He-Dash, and becomes depressed.

For my current rendition of pony!Iji, I'm having her as a dark-grey mare with light brown mane wearing a green vest, and her nanogun is stuck on her forehead like an oversized artificial unicorn horn.

Tiggers: For Shining Armor, I think it's thanks to Hollywood. That is, his voice sounds pretty close to the stock stereotypical surfer voice.

Cadance I'll admit I was pretty wary of, but they managed to make her work despite the whole alicorn thing (I write the "best babysitter ever" thing off as the usual rose coloured goggles people see stuff like that in the past with).

EDIT: Gex: That'd make for a really dark ending.

Reminds me of a fanfic idea I had where Rainbow gets split into two, one with the red, orange and yellow colours in her mane which is even more competitive and impulsive and one with the other colours in her mane that has her insecurities about failure turned so far up to eleven that she's afraid to do anything to do with flying.

@Gex: I wanted to her base colours in a more striking manner. Anyways Pacifist!Iji has to sneak around, so grey suits that better :V Also the nanogun as a synthetic horn feels more natural to me, it would be wierd to have her wear a lopsided battle barding with the nanogun strapped to the side.

@Ace You make a good point about the color, but if the nanogun was on her back, then she would have to lower her head like she was using a horn anyway. Besides, wouldn't a nanogun that big (relatively) look strange on her head or be hard to use?

I don't like it much either, but if you want a popular fanfic it has to be one of three things, insane, terrible, or depressing.

Cadence does have some qualities commonly seen in a Mary Sue character.

What does that term even mean.

The nanogun could be on both sides. Like a double-barreled nanogun.

@Gex: Pragmatic Adaptation. The nanogun is still large for a unihorn but not the man-portable rocket launcher it looks like in the game. I'm having her cutie mark and eyes and nanogun's glowy bits in a neat blue "glow" to give a hint to the nano-infusion she has. Mostly she'll be lowering her her like a casting unicorn when firing it (Use Twi's stance for firing Unicorn Lasers for reference). Mainlky I just like using existing body language and stances.

@Ace Well, if the nanogun was smaller, I'd still think that if it had the same barrel shape it'd look awkward. I think a cylinder or cone shape would be more appropriate than a square.

And that is what bugs me about it. If the meaning is that different from person to person, then it is utterly useless at communicating an idea. And if it can't do that, then what's the point of it being a term, and what's the point of using it to try to convey an idea?

@Kyler It's an overpowered/perfect character, and will probably be the Author Avatar. Other people have more general or specific definitions, but this is the general idea.

One man's "overpowered author avatar" perfect is another man's "this is my favorite person in the book" perfect.

"Mary Sue", functionally, seems more like a label slapped on a character the speaker doesn't like.
