He's a PHP guy so I think he's a little fanboyish of it. I think he had to do some stuff in Python and it stressed him out because he's not familiar with it... so now he's a bit biased.
He was building sites for non profits and told the company he worked for up front that he only did PHP and they kept giving him Python stuff to do... so he quit in bad blood.

PHP is only forgiving if you're doing something small. The larger the project gets, the easier it is for it to become a snarled tangled mess.

I think thats why he likes PHP, he said its more forgiving when it comes to code.
That's one of it's worst features - it pretends to work, no matter how buggy your code actually is. (And PHP is pretty much inherently buggy).
