Dash is way too confident about her own abilities, and she ignores the things that can make her performance suffer - until they pile up and incapacitate her, like in "Sonic Rainboom".

The sonic rainboom isn't just speed though, it's speed + whatever creates the rainbow

Dash actually seems afraid of losing. She often looks pretty worried or even scared when it looks like she might lose.

Way more of a sore loser than AJ, for sure, but I think she learned that lesson. As I said, she's terrified of losing (a lot like Trixie in that regard, I wonder why people don't call her out on being a loudmouth), but when the task needs to be done, she forgets all about that.

Also: RD is proud of her abilities, yet idolizes those of the wonderbolts, there must be some reason for that.
I guess I just dislike the idea that she's already better than them, since it undermines their abilities

Yeah, the Wonderbolts probably have a whole routine of their own, and incorporating RD into it with her attitude could be a bit of a problem. Doing a Wonderbolt show probably requires a ton of discipline, and RD is terrible with discipline.

She's not better than them. She's always aiming to impress them, meaning "Hey look at what I can do, can I join you?"
They actually do seem impressed with her though.

x 3 A seagull can be beat Starscream. A peice of litter floating in the breeze could defeat Starscream.
Though that fight was awesome.

And they're like a hundred times bigger. Like Soarin's has him create a huge hurricane out of the clouds and Spitfire makes the entire sky light up like the sun.
So, like the Rainboom, just 120% cooler.

Just because they're impressed with her doesn't mean they think she's ready to join. A guy who runs an orchestra might be impressed with someone's musical talent, but still think they need more practice before bringing them on.

I read somewhere that whenever Rainbow Dash tried doing the sonic rainboom in practice, it always failed because she would only put one arm forward. When she actually did it successfully she would have two arms forward.

This is what bugs me.....
Pegasus can perform those tricks, and Unicorns have magic. Poor Earth Ponies.
I want to see an Earth Pony do their kind proud.

And before badass decay when Starscream was first introduced in Transformers Animated he scared the shit out of me. That guy is insane. He's also pretty effective when he's not being a dumbass, because he's a Complete Monster with no shame, honor or pride.
