@Bad: My headcanon is similar. There are large differences though. Firstly, I consider the Hearts and Hooves Day alicorn as the representative of Saturn and call her Princess Cornucopia. Secondly, for me, it's less the number of alicorns than the number of alicorns with cutie marks. Also, the number is quite a bit higher than ten (you're forgetting the moon after all). Also, it's less a limit so much as the alicorn is automatically assigned the "most important" celestial body available.

Aw man, that means Pluto got the shaft if it's done by "most important."

Anyways, I like to fanonize that there are Common Winged Unicorns as well as the mightier Alicorns.

I'm not exactly comfortable with assuming that their solar system is anywhere near identical to ours, especially considering that it is implied to be geocentric. That kinda rules out the whole celestial body association thing for me.

@ Sereg: I'm counting the Moon as Earth's Alicorn though Luna doesn't have dominion over Earth.

Also Alicorns get dominion other certain things I was thinking Celestia's is Light, Luna's is darkness, Mercury's is Fire, Venus' is Love, Mars' is War (bit iffy on that one), Neptune's is Water, Jupiter's is Storms or Air and Pluto's is Death. I think that's all I've got.

I thought the threadcanon for Firecracker Burst was more along the lines of her setting different towns on fire to see what kind of explosions they make.

I'll agree with most of that. I'd say that we make Mercury's Journeys though to fit with Leon's cutie mark and the Myth though. I also thought that we'd agreed that Jupiter was Storms to fit with Princess Permafrost. I think we should generalise Mars to combat. Also, I thought that Saturn should be Harvests.

Speaking of alicorns, I recently read a fanfic where Cadence is responsible for the zebras' rhyming (she placed a curse on them). I thought that was neat idea.

@Sereg The ponies and the zebras got into a war due to some sort of immortal spider god. Eh, the fic was sketchy on the details. Cadence placed a curse on the zebras to punish them. Some of them speak in rhyming couplets (like Zecora) and some of them speak in long, epic poems.

Oh, and Cadence ate the spider god's heart and that's why she's an alicorn.

Eh, I think if it just comes automatically to them, even if they have to do it, they're used to it, so it's not that bad for the descendants.

@ Sereg: Yeah that's better for Mars and Saturn makes sense. I was thinking four of the Alicorns should be in charge of the four Elements, but maybe that should be left to some other entities like titans or primordials or something. So yeah Mercury journeys, Neptune ocean and apparently Uranus is sky.
