@Turtle Butter Mom said she couldn't take the smell and cleaned the turtle tank.

Then left the turtle outside. Under the sun. In a Californian Summer.

Coincidence. The episode was written about year before that toy came out.

Ouch.. I had a friend that did that to her hampsters. Put a mom and her babies out in the sun because she thought it would be good for them.. and it baked them.

Wow, strange that the writers would want to make episodes that would massively change another series, despite the fact that episodes aren't allowed to not make sense to first-time viewers.

Seems odd to introduce something that would be a recurring character in other series when you aren't allowed to have episodes that won't make sense before viewing other episodes.

Season 2 doesn't have that restriction at all. Just look at Baby Cakes.

Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

I think they mean lacking continuity in a vaguer sense than that, they have to properly introduce new characters and plot points or else things will get old quick, just you don't need to play each episode in perfect order to enjoy the story. I think it's just a sense they want each episode to be enjoyable stand alone.

Yeah, the idea is simply that each episode can stand on it's own. You don't have to have seen the other episodes to understand the one you're watching. I.e. you don't have to watch Baby Cakes for other episodes with the babies to make sense. If they wanted zero chronology, the end of Lesson Zero fried that.

@Red: That's not quite a rat tail. Not sure what it is.

@storyyeller Wait, they got rid of that? That explains the Cakes and RD reading in A Friend In Deed. Actually, I think the reason why we only saw Tank once is because that episode is the last episode in Season 2 where all the pets appear, and we haven't got an episode that shows where Rainbow Dash lives.
