@Ginger: Luna is of the view that the ponies should reach out and colonize other lands. Celestia disagrees and thinks they need to band together to protect their weakened Harmony after Discord's rampage. Luna would eventually come to the conclusion that it would be better to be forgiven instead, and thus the Nightmare Moon Incident.

Their video upload comment:

Children of the Night is a fan based animated project developed solely by two people. That would be me, Jordana G, and my husband, Richard S.

It tells the tale of what woud have been the origin of Nightmare Night, and the catalyst element that forced Celestia to banish Luna.

After defeating Discord, Canterlot was witnessing a very slow recovery. Misery could still be found everywhere around, specially for the ponies that had less means.

Luna thought that expanding the kingdom and founding a new pony colony elsewhere would give a solution to the problem, allowing the ponies that she would choose for the matter, a new brand future. Celestia refused the proposal of her sister to scatter Equestria. For after such a great lack of harmony she thought it could shatter the kingdom forever.

Being denied and in the shadow of her own sister, Luna decided it easier to ask for forgiveness than permission...

Oh, about Mako and the Makkorra pairing and shit. I didn't pay too much attention, because it's shipping discussions and those tend to be thoroughly inane.

Good to know I was completely right in my first impressions when the shipping thread went up and I was filled with dread.

Seriously the Avatar fandom shipping is rabid

Even the Touhou and Pony fandoms learn to tolerate each other's ships

Well at least the Touhou fandom is surprisingly civil because I hardly ever hear about Touhou flamewars except when haters raise up arguments on /jp/.

I don't take shipping seriously. It's a sizeable multiversal phase-space, it's not like the more "sensible" ships break any physical laws so there's a possibility for the shipping to be valid somewhere.

Anyways, if it's well-written, I can dig it.
