@ JT: Well, once again, I prove myself to be an ass. I guess I've just dealt with too many other people within the fandom and other fandoms outside the thread that get overly defensive if not downright hostile towards anyone who doesn't care for the series.

Journalism is just a gun. It's only got one bullet in it, but if you aim right, that's all you need.

@Kyler. I saw those last night. They're pretty great. That guy's really good at customs.
@chad. They're customs based on Yuugi Hoshiguma and Parsee Mizuhashi from Touhou.

@Freeman Sad indeed.

I love how Parsee's pony name is "Jellybean".
Can you tell me who you are? Can you tell me where I am?

I love tortoises, but think about this way.
Different forms of life must go extinct to pave the way for new life.

Everything's been done. Everything has a meaning. However your life at best is to serve as a building block for others.

@Chada It's still sad, being the last of your kind. Speaking of tortoises, anyone ever hear of negligible senescence? It's basically immortality.

Random: Anybody know if there's a "Sitting Lyra" sculpture or something out there? I really want one to just leave sitting random places around my house.
No effort at all on their part.Lol, thissss close to saying I'd get it for ya.

I think that particular species of Tortoise went extinct along with a bunch of others because sailing ships would catch them and put them in the hold to eat. Apparently the tortoises could live for a long time without food and water so the sailors would always have a fresh supply of meat.

@Turtle Yeah, George's species was "functionally extinct", meaning there were still living individuals, but they were incapable of reproducing.

And I'm guessing the dodos forgot to breed them?
If they're useless, we'd kill them for fun! If they're pest we kill them!

The greatest evolutionary advantage: being useful to humans.

Dodos went extinct for the same reason.. I think they were edible and slow and sailors killed them off as easy meat
I think breeding.. like everything else for tortoises... is a slow proces.
People back then just didnt realize that even though there were thousands of something... if you eat almost all of them they probably wont be able to keep a stable population.
