Probably why I'm now reading the trope page for Rainbow Brite of all freaking things (even added something to it..)

I have to second Keg's recommendations, both shows are absolutely fantastic.

I also want to recommend Niea_7. It's a nice slice of life comedy with a bit of slapstick that also doubles as a character study. It was done by the crew who handled Serial Experiments Lain as a bit of alight-hearted break.

@ginger: Yeah, it doesn't surprise me that you didn't like Kino. doesn't even have a PLOT, let alone a villain.

|Not liking Vino makes sense too, overcompetant and morally gray that he is. What did you think about whatsisname, the psychopath in the white suit? He was one of my favourites.

@Ginger: Have you seen Tiger & Bunny? You might like that, it has two really solid villains. you'll probably loathe Barnaby, though.

I actually haven't seen that many anime lately. But actually lately I've kinda had this urge to find something with most or all of the main characters as strong females. No fanservice or any of that nonense. Anybody know anything like that(Aside from madoka, which I KNOW someone is going to recommend but I['m reluctant to try).

Can't remember his real name, but it was something vaguely female sounding... think it started with a C. He was a psycho train conductor who gets pissed and goes on a mobster killing spree.

Eh, that's what you get when you pull a single plot out of the middle of a series, I guess. Vino might have been more developed in the original novels.
