They're both avatars, but Luna is probably a firebender. We don't know enough of Celestia to get a good profile but if I were hazard a guess I'd say waterbender.

And to be frank, Applelight, I'm dead. I think Im going to go watch Rainbow Dash Presents again. Seeing Rarity get punched in the eye by Applejack is always entertaining.

You should try Clam AV. I've heard that works well, though obviously, it's not perfect like any AV.

@Kegi, you say graceful and precise, I say "is it me or do a lot of waterbenders/water tribe who aren't relaxed out of their mind seem sticks shoved up their rears?" and Rarity, and yes, even Twilight fit this view quite well, though they are also about precision and grace too.
