Yea I know... but from a human standpoint its odd to me. You guys are missing the HUMAN part.. as in show made by humans for humans to enjoy.

Im not discounting that they are ponies, but they are still ponies as told by a human standpoint. To keep it in the comfort zone they arent going to make their biology too bizarre or people might not be able to relate to them.

Its just interesting to me sociologically that they would choose to portray this when it is slightly outside of the norm for human culture. We tend to portray things within our own cultural strictures reguardless of them being talking ponies or whatnot.

I just got the Older couple whose kids have already moved out vibes from the Cakes. Like they let Pinkie stay with them because they are empty nesters and they enjoy having her around so the house doesnt feel as empty.

Okay, so I should apparantly be checking to make sure before I acquire computer parts, so for anybody particularly PC-savy in this forum:

This is the heatsink I bought. That is everything it came with.

This is the part of my motherboard it will connect to.

Now I believe I need something called an AMD Socket in order to hook the two together, but I'm not sure and I don't want to buy something I don't need. Can anybody tell me if I've got this right, or if I could potentially attach them as is? The instructions appear to make the assumption there's some kind of supporter involved, bu the heatsink came as the heatsink alone.

I think the that whole issue can be resolved by saying that the Cakes' ages are so vague that they could really fit anywhere from early thirties to fifties. For the most part Like Reality Unless Noted applies. The thing is that the mere fact that they're that old is up for interpretation anyway.

plus, you have no evidence for how old she is to begin with, your just making a wild guess that she is that old and then making more assumptions about a species with a completely separate biology. When Word Of God is that there are differences between Pony and Human development with regards to age.
Build a fool proof system, and the world will create a better fool. My random thoughts

@Seraphem: I wouldn't say that assuming that older females of a species are at higher risk for pregnancy complications is overly asspullish. That seems like a fairly standard thing.

Although to be fair, Faust has admitted that what she says isn't necessarily canon if the show contradicts it, but yeah, this is kind of a pointless discussion given that we have no idea how old they are anyway.

[up]Yeah, I'm not disputing that "old mother = complications" is a bad assumption to make, I'm just questioning whether Mrs. Cake is old enough for that to be an issue.

I know real world ponies live to around 35.

I also know from a general worldbuilding standpoint that the more long lived a species is, the less offspring they tend to produce.

Since most pony familes appear to be much like our own it wouldnt be wrong to theorize that they have a similar lifespan to our own.

And I thought the WOG was on mental aging and not physical?

Im probably just overthinking this whole thing though... I'll shut up now [lol]

all I know is they seem to be the second oldest ponies in ponyville, behind granny smith.

Pretty sure even the mayor is younger.

@Kegi - I think the AMD Socket is the thing that the processor chipset sits in on the Motherboard. You should then put a layer of that silvery grease on top of it and then put the heatsink/fan direclty on top of it.. it should sit right on the chip AFAIK for best heat transfer.

What about Mr. Waddle? And the senior center ponies from Mare Do Well? There are older ponies, they just don't show up very often.
