Seriously, there is nothing about this episode that isn't awesome.
Although I'm not very sure how to feel about Rainbow Dash having caused what is practically the central junction in Equestria's timeline. For one, I felt it was putting too much emphasis on a character that wasn't the protagonist, plus I felt it was a bit inconsistent that here it only took rash competitiveness while years later it would take a friend's near-death to make her do that (but hey, fan's pick). On the other hand, MY GOD WAS THAT AWESOME.
All of it makes me wonder... What happened that Dash's confidence would be so completely shattered afterwards? Did she read Cupcakes or something?

A child may be raised to think that light is darkness, but the light still enlightens.
I have to admit, present-day Twilight hopping around in circles saying "YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES" had me laughing out loud.
This episode was absolutely adorable. Had me smiling the whole way through. Although I have to wonder what the hell the purpose of a rock farm is.
Yes We Did.
Dallas Mavericks — 2011 NBA Champions
That episode was just... the most adorable thing ever.
I saw Derpy! Which has me wondering: Do the cartoon ponies grow into adulthood faster than normal humans? Also, I'm waiting for the inevitable remix of Fluttershy's song.

@Astrosimi: I'm fairly certain her lack of confidence came from being completely unable to pull it off again.
Well ain't there one damn song that can make me break down and cry?
Exactly how old does somepony have to be before they stop being a filly and start being mare?
MOST. ADORABLE: EPISODE EVER! HHHHHNNNGG!
Seriously, each backstory was full of cute.
Applejack and Pinkie Pie's stories were the most surprising (Amish Ponies? Hilarious!). and fluttershy's song was adorable!
Also, a little extra note. The desing of Twilight's mom is Lauren's original desgin for the pony.
Too lazy to have a decent sig.
Huh so who's the mommy dragon that loaned the egg for Twilight's entrance exam?
To give Stone Mason something to work with, probably.
What would the cutie mark of a pony whose special talent is ziplining even look like?
But apart, all we are is just a pile of mush and some crumbly dry mess...
Well ain't there one damn song that can make me break down and cry?
Just wanted to break my normal pattern of lurking to say that I think I just watched the best thing ever.
There's "a fine line" between "There's" and "between".
My reaction to this episode?: eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee- eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesocute!
Me two!

*Watchin' this episode*
- Hah. Applejack's normal family and her cousins are "like apples and oranges".
- Sophisticated-talking Applejack just ain't right.
- Oh, oh, let me just guess where that rainbow came from.
I have a message from another time...
AAW, that was SSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOO cute. And awesome.
