I've watched a friend play Fallout 3 and honestly it doesn't seem that interesting.

Ginger. You need to play New Vegas (Specifically Dead Money). Elder Elijah is your kind of villain. I am dead serious.

New Vegas seems interesting. And the first two games and New Vegas are by the same people that did Planescape: Torment and Knights of the Old Republic 2, so I could expect good writing there.

And to whomever asked: I haven't formally stopped playing Mass Effect... I just can't be botered playing it for some reason

I prefer New Vegas to Fallout 3.

And Elijah is one of the most awesome people especially when you hear what he did in the Big Empty.

Please don't say "good writing" around me. Ya'll know that word means something different to me than it does to you.

If Derpy Hooves jumped into your lap, what would you do?

Elijah, Ulysses (Especially Ulysses), The Fiend Leaders, Legate Lanarius, Caeser (From a point of view), House (From another point of view). Fallout New Vegas is full of amazingly well written villains.

[up]Erm Sorry Moe I really don't know. Pardon for not paying attention.

anyways Derpy hooves in my lap? Assuming we are using 3 foot scaled ponies It would be a little rough but no worse than having a large dog jump in my lap, Scritchies would ensue once I got over the initial shock.

Isn't Red Eye an amalgam of Elijah and the President from F3?

[up] But are they competent?

KOTOR 2 really was quite good. Too bad Obsidian had to cut a bunch of content to release it on time. Deadlines are deadlines, though, especially when you don't have the clout to delay them.

Frank Horrigan was pretty cool. Even if there's some irony towards being called a mutant by him.

The first two games are available on Go G.com for cheap. I would highly recommend both those and new vegas.

But are they competent?

very much so.

Knights of the Old Republic 2 might've been better than the original if they had just finished the damn thing. The characters and writing were fantastic.

I don't like what they did the G0-T0. He was one of my favorite characters and he was unceremoniously offed.

[up]I'm aware. I'm just waiting for a Steam sale. And to finish some of my other crap.

I've played Fallout 1

Too open ended, I found it boring

@Ginger Oh hell yes. Elijah manages to completely through all standard RPG tropes out the window in Dead Money. How does he accomplish his villainy at his age? Bomb collars and mantraps. He is just plain awesome as a villain. The best part is that the player has the option to beat him at his own game which might fit Ginger's requirement of satisfying climax

oh, and derpy in my lap? Why, I'd ask if she has any mail for me. Why else would she land in my lap?

Why is she considered a mailmare anyway? I thought she was a delivery mare when we saw her.

The mailmare fanon came before Feeling Pinkie Keen I believe.

Exactly, but she wasn't delivering mail during that sequence.

Yeah but it doesn't matter what she was doing in that episode because the majority of the fandom had already latched onto a concept.

There's also a lot of Fanon claiming that Derpy Hooves and Dinky are sisters. But "Sisterhooves Social" more or less shows that Amethyst Star is Dinky's sister, not Derpy. I bet a number of fans were displeased when that happened. Maybe they should change it to Derpy being Dinky's foalsitter, and that Derpy thinks of Dinky as a sister. smile

Delivery mare, mailmare... sometimes there's overlap.

This is kinda why I segued into Console RP Gs like Lunar and Final Fantasy. I prefer having a clear direction over games where you can "do it however you want" (in my experience, it invariably turns out that either A) you actually can't do it however you want, the game just isn't telling you the order, or else B) you can do it however you want because the game is shallow and empty enough that there's not really much to it).

@Ginger And Vinyl/Octavia have never been on screen together. Some parts of fanon are just there, for some reason. And a mail company would probably handle both small and large mail/deliveries.

@Tigger

Actually, the fanon is that Derpy is Dinky's mother, not sister.

Updated my liveblog. I might just glaze over chapter 11 because I honestly can't remember a whole lot, but chapter 12 is gonna be a bigger one. Then I just need to recap 13 and then I can actually continue the story.

There's also a lot of Fanon claiming that Derpy Hooves and Dinky are sisters.
Actually, the fanon is that Derpy is Dinky's mother, not sister. Some people have formed a little thing about them all being a family, with Dinky and Amethyst being sisters, Derpy being the mother, and the Doctor being the father.
