@Pannic "No Good Deed" is the only song I remember so...
@Bad Who does it?

You said you had never been to the state I live before, how would that be possible?
I forgot about that.

@Ginger: Eh, if it makes you feel any better, the same thing happend to me: I thought I was being original when I thought up the idea of Bonbon actually being a changling, but then I found that there are at least 3 fanfics with the same basic idea.

Well, Wonderful is basically the villain song of the musical.
I'm somewhat fond of 'popular'... there are a few others, as well. I own the soundtrack. and the soundtrack for Phantom of the Opera, as well.

There should be a fic about an evil entity called The Shipper who forces certain ponies to unnatrually and self-destructively obsess over each other for completely arbitrary reasons (like standing too close to each other)
Sounds like the Love Poison.

@Bad I mean who casts whatever mind control is in the fic?
Twi?
@kgi Huh, I didn't even know Wiked HAD a villain

Here's a tip for anyone trying out for a show: Never sing "Popular." I guarantee you that the director will be exerting all their available energy to not roll their eyes.
Yeah. The Wizard and Madame Morrible.

@story The way it'd work in my head is a lot... LOT more tragic and creepy than Love Poison

I really really love the songs in Phantom of the Opera. Partly because they practically transcend their genre and are quite easily covered in other styles, and I'm a huge cover/remix junkie.

So it's the Stairway To Heaven of the musical world?

Oh yeah, the Phantom Of the Opera (song) is awesome. Not sure if I like any of the other songs though

It is, admittedly, perhaps the most mainstream of all musical songs. At least as far as I know.
They're all pretty good, though none of them quite hits the title song for me. But Masquerade is a lot of fun.

I can confirm Pannic's assessment there. "Popular" really is overdone. A lot.

There are just some songs that are so overdone at auditions that you really just shouldn't do them.
Popular, Corner of the Sky, Stars...
Actually, anything from Wicked, Rent, Les Miserables, Spring Awakening... best to avoid.
