@Blue He still felt the need to give you ample time to react, and didn't simply have the faith plate dump you into the pit to begin with. Like I said, inefficient, but just less of a bad idea compared to most of his.

As for GLaDOS's plans, she really didn't have many things she could do to stop you. There was never anything directly under her control that could use to stop you once you were out and about in the guts of the facility. Even the rocket turret in the first game was caused by a glitch created when the morality core was destroyed.

When they bite the skin between your thumb and index, I suppose. Granted, it hasn't happened to me personally ...

[up] I figured she was too Yandere for Chell to let her die.

The white goo wasn't really him, though. It was you, activating those tubes on your way up from the bottom levels.

Opossums are cute. My rottweiler kills them.

Everything's been done. Everything has a meaning. However your life at best is to serve as a building block for others.

Yes but my mom NEVER screams. I found her reaction a little distressing (to the tune of panicked running outside to figure out WTF is going on.

@Portal: The co-op segments show that Glados actually controls very little of the facility. At best she can make tests and make subjects go through with it.

Hi there Moe. Not that I know of.

I dunno, maybe it was big and dead? I remember one night late at the computer playing TF 2 or on the internet when a lizard jumped from the ceiling onto my shoulder, and my gasp was apparently very loud.

But come on Possums are practically cute. If it wasn't for their habit of biting everything and carrying diseases I would love to keep one.

There should be a Hyena or Jackal as a villain for S3. As in the Mythical version of either of those.

The villain should be a solar deity moth.

@kegisak: Hell yes gypsy jazz is good stuff. I've got a few Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli albums, and I ought to find more artists.

Regarding difficulty and challenge in videogames, have you ever played Cave Story? I'll admit I don't have that much first-hand experience with modern videogames, but I thought the challenge curve in Cave Story was really well-designed. It starts off really easy, and the hidden final level is nicknamed "Hell" and lives up to the name—yet I can only think of one or two points in between where the difficulty jump could be considered unreasonable. I remember dying a bunch before finishing Last Cave... but every time I died, I could see what I did wrong, so I'd try again and get a bit farther.

Speaking of Indie games, I just bought the Humble Bundle V and it has Lone Survivor and Superbrothers: Sword and Sorcery and they are both really neat.

Most difficulty spikes in Cave Story were boss related. I have heard numerous complaints towards Monster X and Core.

Is it possible that we could see a return to appleloosa in S3?

And now I feel bad for not paying any attention to portal 2's music.

I didn't notice either.

Now, when I think about the episode "Read It And Weep", it was interesting seeing Dash say that she's an athlete and that reading is for eggheads. Then, she gets hooked on reading and tries so hard to hide it. Finally, she comes out and says, "I'm an egghead." The tone of it made it sound like she was saying, "I'm gay."
I like the theory that RD's horror at realizing she actually liked the book was a nod at the bronies and their initial feelings upon realizing they actually liked a preteen girls' cartoon.

Haha, yeah those were the points I had in mind where I felt the difficulty spike was (perhaps) too abrupt.
