My favourite Godzilla movie was always either Godzilla vs Hedorah (Hedorah is awesome) or Godzilla vs Mechagodzilla (mechagodzilla is awesome)

@Ginger: So you've never seen Godzilla Vs Biollante? Or Godzilla Vs Destroyah? Man, those are some awesome films. Vs Biollante stood out to me since there were a couple human charectors that I actually LIKED, and trust me, for most Godzilla films, that is increadably rare for me. And everything else in that film was good too.

I've never actually seen any of the Godzilla movies, other than the American one. The only exposure to the Godzilla series I have is from the Super Godzilla SNES game. That games is the reason Biollante is my favorite, despite never actually seeing any movies with it.

The first Godzilla film was actually very serious and dark. Lots of themes and comparisons to the nucular bombs that hit japan. Words can't do it enough justice however, and neither can I. I wish I could though, I really do.
