@Crow: Well, I'm unfamiliar with the 'proper' terms, I'm just trying to give a scale there. But Luna spoke roughly in line with Shakspeare(her language was technically a bit all over the place choronoligically, which does make sense all considered), though he was slightly more modern. I don't think he used most of the antiquated verbs and pronouns, just the same sort of structure.

Yeah, in my fic, Luna speaks Middle Equestrian (Early Modern English) and during the founding of Equestria, each tribe spoke a different language. Unicornian is now known as Classical Equestrian (Middle English) and is the basis of the modern spoken language though the alphabets of all three languages are still in use with Unicornian used the least often.

Eh, I'd personally expect the pony languages to be related more closely to each other than that.

If we'd go with griffons for French (Not sure whether it would be in the same branch as pony language or not) and English for at least one of the tribes, I'd say it would be something more like German and Dutch for the others and Scandinavian Languages for the Sea Ponies (assuming they didn't form their language separate from the other ponies).

Or more like cloudy skies and rain. Because blue is my fav color so clear blue sky is cool (except Sun) and during night it should be only clear sky full of stars,
