I read the Martian Chronicles a long time ago, the one story that sort of haunted me was the little girl who gets locked in the closet and misses getting to see the sun for what may be the only chance in her life that it comes out.
@Librarian, last page: I'm still waiting for somebody to ask me if Bell has ever done anything Hoops find particularly sexy, so I can respond with a time Bell beat the stuffing out of a guy who tried to mug them.
It should be noted that while Bell is not very good at being conventionally sexy, Hoops finds sexiness in some very strange things.
But yeah, a more boxy boxing picture could be fun. Gives me a chance to draw Bell in boxing shorts, topless, and sweaty... The fans will be pleased.

@Kyler The death of disco?

Die, die we all pass awayBut don't wear a frown cuz it's really okayAnd you might try 'n' hideAnd you might try 'n' prayBut we all end up the remains of the day
I love the chorus.

I honestly wonder how people can enjoy reading something as soul crushingly bleak as 1984.
Me neither, but apparently it has an implied happy ending.

He's a famous author who has the notable distinction of a having a book in his repertoire that people have been attempting to ban for a while now.
The book itself is about book banning.
Yes. The irony.
(Granted, the book was about books being banned in general, and not about particular books being banned for particular reasons, but still...)

I was haunted by the one where the house keeps going even after the family is dead. It was brilliant.
@Chad: Aw. That kinda makes me feel better. Somehow...
Also, you guys, I liked1984. I don't mind being sad.

Some of you are still able to browse Ponibooru? It's been showing nothing but the Cloudflare error page for me for days.
And Applejack is here too!

There Will Be Soft Rains? I remember that. In school, we had these books with a bunch of random scifi short stories, and I read a lot of them for fun.

The description of the mechanical hound in Fahrenheit 451 and the fact that the "Firemen" used to give it cats to kill while they watched was kinda disturbing to me

@ Ginger, again: The reason people were trying to get it banned (at least according to the...I think it was the Moral Guardians page) was because it used words such as "damn" and "hell".
Also, kegi, I could ask to give you an excuse :P

I've read There Will Come Soft Rains.
Also found that part of Georgetown in Fall Out 3 with the Mr.Handy robot reading the poem that story is named after to the corpses of two children.
Sad stuff it is.

That hound was really cool. I honestly can't think of any reason why someone would try to ban Fareheit 451. I remember it had a bunch of cool future technology that turned out to pretty much come true (tiny portable mp3 players, huge, flatscreen tvs, etc).
Element of Dullness.

@ginger: A great thing about it is that each story is different, so if you find you don't like one story, it'll be over quickly and you can get to the next one.
Oh, god, the one with Mrs. K and the one with Green Bluff... shudder... That's a good one, too. Plus, he loved old movies! He's in lots of documentaries about them!

I remember the bit in the movie where people were nicknamed after the books they had memorized. Two of them each memorized half of "Pride and Prejudice", so they called one Pride and the other Prejudice.
But where was Zombies?

The thing about the guy going crazy and just sitting down and staring up into the rain until he drowned was kinda creepy too
@condo Just how it goes dude.
I'm using that response to people for now on.

The best part of the book, though, might have been the Denham's Dentifrice commercial.
