As literature, if the text alone isn't enough to convey the intended meaning, then the author isn't doing their job.

This particular bit is artwork in word form. To spoil Ginger just a little Velvet breaks the fourth wall. It works fine in a PDF (just tried it) it's not not quite as good.

Ehh.. I just took a look at it... all it does is make the text hard to read... Im pretty sure you could just read it in a regular document and then look at the text effects aftewards....

If it's possible to use other media or slight effects to help the text or the storytelling, I don't see the problem. The music in CEQ is only about setting the mood; it's not needed to enjoy the scenes. Colour and text effects are also used in circumstances to convey to the reader what's going on. It's not just the text, it's what the author does with it.

This is one of the reasons why House of Leaves is one of my favorite books.

@ ginger, honestly, the colour problem might be worse than not seeing the text effects. Also, what Turtle said.

It works just fine for me. The text effects that would be affected only appear in Google Docs, or if you view the page as an HTML. Everything else is just color and distortion, and it works fine regardless of size.

Are you guys having problems seeing the reds and stuff in PDF? Because I can see them just fine.
