@ginger: It was okay to start off, but then they kept it going for almost a third of the episode. Also like the other non Pinkie numbers, I think it may have worked better if the others acknowledged how over the top cheesy it was a little.

You seem to get the idea I'm an AJ loathing sadist.

I dunno, I've always been a bit repulsed by Disney style numbers, only that company tends to get them right, and the Muppets.

I don't mean Lampshading for everything, trust me I think Lampshading gets tiresome fast, just when really cheesy stuff happens. Pinkie's numbers work because everyone genuinely is wondering what the hell she's yapping on about.

I can take FIM's Lampshading because they don't use it to an extent it wipes out any suspension or genuine emotion from the story, just light little nods every now and then, usually just towards Pinkie's antics.
