Kubrick fired people who said ONE word against him. Treated his cast and crew (with few exceptions) like objects rather than people.
Tricked the people who worked on Dr Strangelove into giving silly performances. Calling them "Test takes" and promising them that they'd never see the light of day.
Drove the main actress of
The Shining to STRESS INDUCED SICKNESS (her hair started falling out!)

Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.
@Seraph Yep. I'm going to be all over it when they get it up on their store. Hopefully I can snag one in time.
I'll be honest, while Kubrick sounds like a huge asshole, that whole tricking the cast with fake takes thing is hilarious and awesome.
@Pannic Shut it.
I'm SO, SOOOOO tired of people defending him.
Sorry, personal
Berserk Button.
@Purple The second someone starts HURTING people in order to achieve their goals when it could've been avoided altogether, then that's just crossing the line.

They all gave shakesperian quality takes. They'd become a part of the movie to win awards and be taken seriously. And Kubrick didn't care. He didn't treat them like people

Kubrick would make an awesome movie villain... it's just that he's real. These were real people he was fucking over

Hey guys, is anyone capable of picking up a Derpy toy for me? I live in the Netherlands, so going is not an option, and apparantly international shipping is neither. I can compensate your costs.
Stephen King doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to movies then. Come on, the worst one? Out of all those shitty adaptations? Whatever dude.
Oh yeah, and Kubrick also changed the ending of
A Clockwork Orange. Missing out the entire POINT of the book

@ginger: Really? I read about the original ending after seeing the movie and it sounded terrible. It seemed to imply that being a psychopathic rapist was just a phase that teenagers go through and grow out of. If that was the whole point of the book then fuck that book.
@Purple Misery was FUCKING awesome!

Hmmmm, Ponified Misery. With RD as Kathy Bates' character and someone else as the author of the Daring Do books

Misery was the only one of his that actually scared me and made me have to put down the book for awhile to calm down.
