She's still stronger than what the episode seemed to imply. Boast Busters seemed to pass her off as a weakling

Makes me wonder if Trixie would've been able to show up Twilight at all during her show. It is her talent after all

I'm not sure what Twilight would have even done up there. She has lots of spells, but she isn't exactly used to using them to show off. In terms of impressing a crowd, Trixie probably could have shown up Twilight.

Is Trixie even aware that she isn't as strong as she says she is?

Maybe she's hiding behind the fact that the issue will only ever come up during one of her shows, where she'll be able to use her talent to outdo them, regardless of the actual power of the pony she's challenging

But I still stick by my Secret Test of Character theory. If unicorns hatching dragons (or any kind of monster) was commonplace the population of Canterlot would have a huge amount of them.

She didn't seem very confident when the Ursa actually showed up, so I'd say she knows her own strength.

I think trixie despite being a weakling (compared to twilight) is stronger than average. after all most unicorns in ponyville were impresseed by her magic show

Her magic is probably centered around performing, seeing as unicorns usually specialize in one area. For example, Rarity's magic helps her with her job as a seamstress.

I'm a little hazy with the details, but that dream ended with the Boss cornering Gilda, but FS uses The Stare on him, and gets him to stop. Message was: it's not OK to hurt people, even if they hurt someone else.

It might have been possible if she hadn't been so busy freaking out. Heck, even Twilight didn't take it in a straight fight, she just lulled it to sleep. Trixie might have been able to trick it somehow if she was prepared for it.

the logic I was going with is that since Scoot worships the ground Rainbow trots on, she probably gave Soot the same misguided advice that she gave Apple Bloom sometime offscreen.

All this talk of Trixie reminded me I had a dream about episode 2 last night. Somehow Trixie was behind everything. Wish I could remember how that worked.

That's a good point.

Am I the only on who suddenly thought of Discord playing matchmaker? I'm not sure if I'd find that frightening or... strangely entertaining.
