at that point the stall owner was just confused.

Still say he wouldn't have held to the 10 bits amount and was just trying to haggle, flutershy just did it very very poorly.

on the currency; it's an episode by the writer with the worst grasp of continuity, file it under Bad Writing and accept it doesn't really work that way.

Though part of the reason it was subverted was because Peter acknowledged that he was trying to do it immediately after making the switch.

Inside Man is a good movie from what I remember. The villain was pretty cool as well, although I have no clue how you'd react to him.

So on an unrelated discussion:

Why do you guys think the "go back in time" spell only works once and then only for a couple of minutes?

Is it a real restriction (IE it happens for some reason, and Pony magic just hasn't found a way around it yet) or do ya think that the powers-that-be just say it is to prevent ponies from recklessly using it and tampering with history?

I think it's the second one. I like to think that Starswirl invented all KINDS of time spells, but had the secrets to most of them destroyed not long after he initially discovered them.

there are so many sides, no one side really comes off entirly wrong.

The guy who owns the bank

the influence broker

the city brass

and Denzel's character

only one of those that is unquestionably a good guy is Denzel Washington's character, though the city brass is more obstructive bureaucrat then anything else

Doylist explanation: They need to limit it to a one-time use thing because otherwise it has way too many plot implications.

Watsonian explanation: Either the nature of the spell prevents a pony from using it more than once, or Star Swirl built that restriction into it so ponies would only use it when it was truly necessary.
