I love those little doll constructs Twilight made. You can tell they're not just imaginary because her horn glows as she sings the reprise, and her magic aura surrounds them, which makes it all the more evil of Chrysalis when she crushed Twilight under her hooves.

well the Derpy/Dinky fannon did start randomly from a "Hey why not" no matter how weird and nonsensical it was at first, there has been so much heartwarmingly, touching Derpy/Dinky stories, comics, vids..etc... that a lot of people just can't ignore. If anything it's one of the things that I love so much about this fandom...new info comes out that could spoil fannon (I.E. Sparkler/Dinky sisters) instead of raging, find the most heartwarming way to bring the two together She adopted Dinky, so we adopted her

I never liked Derpy/Dinky fanon. But I have my headcanon and can't ignore that and enjoy both characters.
