Do you think bronies would get less flack is this show was called something different? Like, instead of having the My Little Pony label, it was called The Elements of Harmony, The Adventures of Twilight Sparkle etc etc.
Just a random thought I had.

Sometimes, these things simply offend one's sensibilities, and not just because society tells them so. I don't like porn at all, but it's not because "society" tell me porn is bad (even though it does), it's because of my own preferences and issues with it. The same can apply to this show. In fact, until the latter half of season two when they were improved, the letter writing sequences almost always annoyed me with how markedly preachy they were.

Okay, looking back at the scene, the scene between Ozai and Zuko IS really cool. I was just seeing too much Red at the time because Ozai actually got hit.
That's how I work. Almost everything gets better for me the second time I watch it

Just one more post before I go on this leave. While I was watching that episode, I was listening to The Gates of Delirium by Yes:
This song specifically because I know it lasts just as long as a normal episode of MLP, simply to see if some things would sync up like Wizard of Oz and Dark Side of the Moon. I wonder if anybody has tried anything like this with any other episodes of the show.

@ Lurker, agreed, but if your argument against it is "it makes you feel childish" then the seems to lean very very heavily on caving to societal pressure to 1. see "childishness" as bad, and 2. agree with societal definitions. of what is and isn't childish.
and if that true, well, it's there choice I'm not going to try and pressure anyone, just feel sorry for them.

Ginger: If he's going to go and post what he's doing in public forums, he's obviously expecting some kind of response. People may have differing opinions and state them. That's the risk he took.
So if something makes you angry, maybe you should go over it a second time just to make sure that's how you actually feel about it before complaining about it?
But it's like playing a game, going to the last dungeon, then throwing it away.

I've done that before, actually. Either something bad enough happened that I didn't care anymore, or I'd just finally gotten fed up with a gradually more and more disappointing game.

I actually did that with Persona 4.
Everyone keeps telling me to watch it all the way to the end. Pfffft, I guess I might as well (stupid investment obsessiveness, why won't you leave me alone? )
