The villains got character development and then lost. Most people see that as a good thing, but it's fairly obvious that you wouldn't.

@Blue which was VERY cool (seriously, I was like "oh man, that shit is awesome!!")... until Zuko redirected it and knocked Ozai on his ass. It wasn't a particularly impressive introduction

But that scene simultaneously served as a moment of awesome for both the villain and the hero. Zuko redirecting it doesn't undo the fact that it establishes Ozai as an incredibly skilled warrior.
