It only works if you have reason to believe that the conclusion is false, and the story is focused on the mystery. Mysteries need conflicting evidence to create reasonable doubt, and thus the mystery itself. FO:E has not given me anything of the sort at this point, and the past is merely a background event that is (currently) unimportant to the plot at hand.

I accepted that FOE was always alternate continuity for show canon, even during show timeline.

But that's don't mean that I'm OK with stuff like Celestia portrayal here.

That's my problem. That hole My God What Have Idone , how reached to that and how it derailed her character.

It derailed your particular interpertation of her character. And it's not a common one either. Nothing in canon suggests that Celestia is a super perfect pony capable of living through the horrors of war completely unscathed.

The mystery of the past and how it affected the present always seemed like the main focus of the story to me.

I suppose Canterlot Wedding may have been an appropriate moment for such an occasion with Celestia (fell for the fake Cadence, chewed out her prized student and got a nasty pwning) but it didn't really get looked into.

As for season three, I would like some more A Day in the Limelight episodes for secondary characters, from what I know Scootaloo is the only Cutie Mark not to have an individual episode focused on her yet. It would be interesting to see some others like Big Mac or even the Princesses get a pov episode.

My favorite part of FOE was learning about what happened in the past as well. The present bits are mostly a glorified video game.

@Story: I just want to point out that I'm not specifically talking about that. I'm pretty sure that canon is meant to portray Celestia as competent and powerful, but not godlike.

I'd love a Scootaloo episode. A Big Mac episode I'm not quite so pumped about; I think he's too chill. The episode just feels like it wouldn't have the energy.

The focus is Pip and her quest to make the wasteland a better place. If the protagonist's goal isn't solving the mystery, then it isn't the focus of the story.

@Psi I'd like that too, though I may be a bit biased. Writing about Scootaloo has really made her grow on me.

You have to remember that the mystery arc has only just begun and it's secondary to the rest of the plot. You'll have a far better idea of what happened long before the reveal.

@Apple Especially with the whole Derpygate incident, I doubt we'll see her speaking again. Background, sure. It'd be nice though. I want a focus episode for a minor character. Not a background one like Lyra or Doctor Whooves, but someone like Cheerilee or Big Mac.
