Considering some of the things ponies have done, I would think there are some who would be able to survive an encounter with a dragon.

I guess they can get by with the whole "Dragon's are rare in Equestria" thing. Still kind of bugs me.

@Ginger: Yeah, their interaction is kind of interesting despite how little Greyscale talks. It's like they know that Greyscale doesn't need to put effort into being cool. She just is.

Also, has anyone read this

? It's pretty interesting and the arrogance of the naration makes it hilarious. I hope that the author continues it. For those who want to know what it's about before clicking Opal, Rarity's cat dreams of a world where she and the other pets are ponies, or is Opal the unicorn dreaming of a world where her friends are all pets, or are both worlds real (as appears mos likely should the story continue).

See here's the issue, your ONLY talking about in combat, you can "relay" on somepony simply being there, without having to acknowledge it blatantly. She relies on all her friends to simply be there and be themselves, any of them missing would throw some part of the group off. but the connections between them are so many, and so subtle that you can't just point to ONE thing and say that is it.

@Seraph You can't use that as an excuse ALL the time. The fic goes out of it's way to demonstrate certain things in an NON-subtle way.

Besides, AJ is MEANT to be an incredibly strong athlete

and it doesn't change the fact that while yes some authors may not be the best at showing it, they are Ka-tet it doesn't matter if one of them is better at something then the rest, they are a group, none of them would feel right without the others there, even without actually seeming to do anything, simply the fact that they are there is enough for the ponies. And given your biases you have a tendency to go out of your way to see anything that isn't praising AJ as being the most bestest pony ever as completely ignoring or even humiliating her.
