[up][up][up]The thing you kinda have to thank for your existence.

Never bothered with the third movie.

As far as HDM goes, first one was okay, second one pissed me off, and third was just "...okay, I guess. That was certainly a book."

For me, I thought the second one was ok, but the third one annoyed me, especially the ridiculous ending.

Okay, I take that back. Megatron was ok in Transformers 1 and Soundwave was a little cool in Transformers 2.

Haven't seen Transformers 3. How does it compare?

God, the ending to HDM was terrible. Those angels are the worst. Thanks for saving the universe kids, now fuck off. Sure we could help you, but we'd rather strand you in your own worlds.

What's this "Transformers" thing you guys are complaining about?

They're robots that turn into toys and hang around boring color corrected humans noone cares about.

Honestly I forgot the "plot" for every single one of the movies. Although I didn't see #2 for sure.

Also, it really really really really really annoyed me how the girls NEVER got dirty. They would be in, like, life or death situations and their faces would look like they just came out of the salon. Heck, I was kind of disappointed that they didn't at least get their clothes ripped or something. Sure, it would be fan service, but it just annoyed me too much how clean they stayed while all the men were full of sweat and all scratched up and stuff.

Oh, so it's a film franchise, then? A new Daring Do movie is coming out pretty soon over here.

The Decepticon hooker roommate in Movie 2 was what totally turned me off... that and the racist autobot twins.

I was a little annoyed that Jazz died in the first movie and they were just like... oh Jazz... then practically tossed his corpse aside.

When I think back on HDM it's just all so freaking vague. I can't remember why any of the characters are doing what they're doing, why Lyra is so important (something about her being "Mother Eve"), what the hell Mrs. Coulter's agenda is, eeeeech.

[up][up][up][up][up] I expected that to happen, just toss both halves in the corner and move on.

Should I liveblog watching Korra?

The intro to the new series seems rather lacking, now that there's no world destroying threat hanging over them. It's so abrupt.

Did Bolin just slide into frame with Earthbending? Or is that Cartoon magic? and I thought Korra was in love with Bolin, not Mako.

His Dark Materials is basically an atheist version of The Chronicles of Narnia.

[up]It's because we have to have a sad ending so everyone knows this is a seeeerious story.

Ignoring the anvilicious religious elements and the last book, The Chronicles of Narnia is actually pretty decent to read.

It's a trilogy of books about this girl named Lyra who goes off on a quest across multiple dimensions while her father or something named Lord Asriel (who MIGHT have been a neat character if he'd actually done shit other than murder a child) tries to wage a war against the Authority aka god.

CS Lewis might be heavy-handed with the religious allegory, but I swear there's more magic and imagination in Narnia than in all of Pullman's alternate worlds put together.
