Not entirely surprised that the CMC may have helped Discord escape. They have a tendency to screw things up. Maybe they'll enter the maze after the Mane 6 and attempt/succeed to recapture him.

So is Discord just one of a kind? Cheerilee spoke like he was a member of a much larger race. Are they all as strong as him? Or is he their god?

I guess this cements Cheerilee as best teacher ever, am I right? Just look at that discipline she hands out when the girls start fighting.

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised how common knowledge he seems to be, since Nightmare Moon was considered a legend. Maybe he is to others like him as alicorns are to normal ponies?

Well, the Arguing seemed to be freeing him. So I don't think he triggered the initial conflict, he might have been fuelling it as it escalated though

Like ginger mentioned, he may have been fueling the conflict as it escalated. The glowing thingy might have been him doing magic-y stuff

x6 Well it is a bit out of context. Maybe there were a bunch of smaller arguments that built up to the fight?

Actually, Scootaloo looks really annoyed when Sweetie Bell jumps forward mentioning the snake tail, so I think they were already annoyed with each other.

If conflict is all he needs to be freed. Why didn't he bust out when Luna became Nightmare Moon? I'm pretty sure there was a lot of disharmony that day

It might be a close-proximity thing as well. Also, I found it interesting that Cheerliee described Discord as having the "head of a pony". I thought it was a goat..maybe he used to be a pony?

I think he's just another species. He wouldn't be the first creature in Equestria to be part something, part another thing
