@Ginger: He was a bit joke character who showed up in one issue of the Red Lanterns introductory storyline.

His popularity is what gave him a name and a backstory.

[up] I was thinking that [lol]

I was always most interested in green lantern. Can't say why. I guess I just thought he sounded the most interesting (powers wise)

Still haven't read any of his comics though

@ginger: The Red Lantern Corps are a group of beings who are given power rings that draw power from the emotion of pure RAGE, mostly the kind that comes from intense loss and suffering. They attack anyone that causes the type of suffering its members have experienced (slavers, murderers, rapists, criminals, etc.) and brutally MURDERS them, not caring for the consequences and oftentimes ignoring laws and justice systems. Sometimes though, members have no qualms about doing TONS of collateral damage to get at their targets and will take down anyone that gets in their way as well.

Its HIGHLY situational really.

[up]Dex-Starr really isn't THAT weird once you look at his backstory: Born in Brooklyn, adopted by a kind old black lady, lived a very happy and loving life, adopted mother got shot and killed by a thief breaking into his home, incapable of being with dead mother because of insensitive cops, forced to live on the street, and then nearly killed when some street punk came along and tried throwing him all the Brooklyn Bridge.

Its the kind of story that could've happened to anyone, really. It just so happened that the protagonist is a house cat.

All this talk about Fallout is making me starving.. Is there a comic version of it?

If not then I'll read the fanfic at some point, maybe over the summer...

@The Freeman: Still not the weirdest Lantern out there. That honor goes to Dkrtzy RRR a sentient mathematical equation.

Comics are weird like that.

Corps correspond to the visible spectrum and an embody an emotion (sort of).

  • Red- Rage

  • Orange- Avarice

  • Yellow- Fear

  • Green- Will

  • Blue- Hope

  • Indigo- Compassion

  • Violet- Love

@ Ginger

It's more like they use fear as a weapon.

@Ginger: Yellow Lanterns inspire fear in others, and as Applelight said they use it to fuel their powers.

@Ginger They are, just that the Yellow ones use the fear of their victims, not their own.

Of course, like all comic book canon, the Lantern Corps are all extremely convoluted and inconsistent.

If the green lantern movie wasn't so shitty it would have been perfect example of how the yellow rings worked.
