Aren't there other moderately popular FO:E fics out there? I've seen one subtitled "Heroes" on EQD, as well as one called "Pink Eyes". It's not like PH is your only choice here.

Pink Eyes doesn't have any good villains. Mostly, I'm just trying to think of ways to combat the constant misery. These people PROMISE that there'll be SOME levity

Yeah, Ginger probably wouldn't like Murky Number Seven. It just really makes you want to give the protagonist a big hug T_T

Ok, that plan is ridiculous. Are they plannign to bring Monterey's entire family with them? Because I have a feeling Monterey won't be allowed back in Tenpony Tower either.

EDIT:I don't think so, unfortunately. Which is a pity as it's probably my second favourite episode after the finale.

@Ace: Like I said, I have work soon anyway, and I have zero interest in ever reading FE. It's not so much the grimdark elements (although when they're obviously gratuitous it still bugs me) so much as the fact that my metric for how much I enjoy fanfic is how well it captures the tone and characters of the source material, so between the fact that FE is based around O Cs and throws the basic tone of the show out the window, literally my only motivation for reading it is to see what all the fuss is about. And I have way too much other stuff around that does interest me to bother.

I thought you wanted the protagonists to face challenges the whole way through, though.
