Upon a closer look, I guess it was more or less a matter of perspective that caused Luna to look so much smaller in the pilot. That, and having her mane flowing again really helped to make her look larger.

One of these days Im going to find some object common between our world and Equestria so I can use it to guesstimate the size of everything. Someone was selling a life sized Pinkie Pie doll and it started a discussion with my boyfriend about what life sized for an Equestrian Pony would be.

The giant candy-cane in Heart's Warming Eve was stated to be 8 feet tall. People compared the ponies around it and concluded them to be about 4 feet tall, I believe. There's pics out there about it.

Im not sure Equestrian apples are the same size though. And if Ponies are only 3-3.5 feet tall then the Cows in the series must be dwarf cattle.

@Kegisak:Yeah, I've been mostly staying away to try and stay productive. Sounds like you're doing well on the social links. I really wish the game had made it more possible to max out everyone in a single playthrough, I hated leaving some of them undone. Kanji's arc is one of the best, Kanji is my second favorite character from Persona 4 (my favorite is Naoto).

And yeah, people have used multiple metrics to approximate pony size and they almost always come out to 3-4 feet tall.
