They do actually bother trying to invite Twilight though, despite the fact that they should know by now that she never goes to parties.
well, there trying to get her to come out of her shell. And I doubt she was bullied bullied, but I could see a few snide remarks, some shunning, little things that on ther own are nothing but yeah, could build up a bit over time.

I doubt Twi would have even noticed any teasing unless it went it full on assault, and don't see that happening.

Well it would be humiliating to go back at that age.
So, intro pilot episodes. I think it did a great job laying down the foundations for what this show is about. Although, I was a little peeved that the pilot teased the idea of a continuing story with a reoccurring villain, however, I've gotten over it.
The dialogue is still as cheesy as I remembered it to be.

@colinispower: Yeah, that is another aspect that makes it somewhat weird to watch. Though not as much of the stuff shown in it was thrown out over the course of the series like I thought it would be.
@Ace: I think it's more that Twilight has never really failed on that epic of a level before, and just imagines it as a lot worse than it actually is because she has no frame of reference for it. In that case in particular, she's afraid of magic kindergarten not because of bullying, but because if she, an adult pony, ended up there, she must have screwed up really badly. It's just a very visible indicator to everyone that she really messed stuff up.

Twinkleshine and Colgate went to Moondancer's party, which was really a front for bringing about the return of Nightmare Moon. Lyra was secretly a spy for Celestia who followed Twilight to Ponyville to stop Twinkleshine and Colgate, who were in turn going to stop Twilight. After Luna's return, the three decided to reside in Ponyville.
