It kinda reminds me of Chang-E only that time it was Chang-E's own confounded fault.

Also they've gotten better with the parallex scrolling

looked a bit flatter, more stiff

could REALLY tell with the background ponies, they just stood still or cycled the same small animation loop over and over. I mean it's still amazing, but Season 2 just took it even further

not really, she understood books, she didn't understand freinds.

To some point I still hold that Twi has bad memories of being bullied and also avoids socialising to evade suckups who want to curry favours with Celestia's Faithful Student. She certainly isn't hopeless in society because Shiny and Cadence looked after her.

well the first episode always has the hndicap of having the introduce everypony and set things up, and this one did it quite well. But took time away from everythng else

With hindsight it's clear Twi at that point was still sour on socializing after being bullied in school.

Yeah, it did a good job of introducing the characters, but that also meant that there wasn't a lot of room to spend on the plot proper, hence why Nightmare Moon ends up getting taken out rather easily.

yeah, it had more time to build up the tension, lay the foundations and just have more plot, less expostion / character introduction.

@Sera: I suspect she was bullied at some point before entering Celestia's tutelage, or least before ponies realized she was the Princess's protege.
