I completely understand why it didn't move Ginger, though I think he'll enjoy the effects of it. Protagonists being fallible and down in the dumps always seems to cheer him up.

yeah just wait till Appa's Lost Days, saddest episode in the series....doesn't help it comes right after Tales of Bah Sing Sei, the OTHER candidate for saddest episode.

It wasn't exactly an emotional moment for me, either. Heck, I think Toph's frustration and helplessness during the whole ordeal got more of an emotional respose out of me than the kidnapping. I more or less just said "damn" and moved on.

I was mostly talking about Toph's distress during the whole thing, that got the biggest sadness out of me, but Appa's kidnapping was still rather tragic, heck both of it was. She tried... so hard....

I knew someone that loved the show, but whenever she watched it REFUSED to watch two episodes, The Great Divide becuase it was stupid, useless, hand no baring on anything, and even got a Discontinuity Nod in the show itself

and Appa's Lost Days just becuase of how much it effected her.

Yeah, I was actually more affected by Aang's reaction at first than from Appa's kidnapping. I thought he had just been kidnapped and been in a cute little circus like Ty Lee's.... Because of that... Appa's Lost Days was... a kick in the stomach... (Of sorts)

Yeah, that was painful. Her friend was getting taken away right behind her and she couldn't even try to do anything to help him without losing all of her other friends.

I think I got more of a response from Appa's return than his kidnapping (not saying his kidnapping wasn't sad or anything).
