Rainbow Dash sometimes dresses in style.

And hey, if she ever gets into the Wonderbolts she'll be wearing that outfit all the time. Those are pretty stylish.

The current split of pony types works really well. Fluttershy, despite being a pegasus, is more like an earth pony, and Pinkie Pie is more like a god.

I know Pinkie IS an earth pony, but for some reason she just doesn't feel like one to me. She feels like she's in her own species entirely

Word Of God is that originally Pinkie Pie was a pegasus and Fluttershy was an earth pony. There's a concept sketch by Faust featuring a winged Pinkie hopping on clouds.

this may be a little mean, especially since they're my favorite supporting characters but am I the only one who thought it would be funny if Fluttershy really did give the Cutie Mark Crusaders "the Stare"?

What does the stare do exactly? It just seems to be an incredibly intimidating glare.

I don't think the stare works on ponies, since her special talent is taming ANIMALS (judging by the dragon in Dragonshy, the stare might work on Spike though)

Not as far as Fluttershy's cutie mark is concerned. She herself clearly expresses a divide between ponies and other animals:

I think Stare can work on everyone. Even sentient creature.

I even whant to see staring contest between Fluttershy and someone (mostly pony) who may even win but with bleeding from eyes, nose and ears. (That more like fan fic and fan art stuff).

You mean besides making them 20% cooler? Hell, before Rainbow Dash always dressed in style.

According to the My Little Pony character page, G3 Rainbow Dash was more of a Cool Big Sis before going through Chickification and becoming a Fashionista. Course, I haven't watched enough G3 to know if this is true or not...
