@Enlong: No, there were humans who willingly went along with the Yeerks. I think they figured if humanity is doomed, they might as well get preferential treatment.
Yeah, I remember the lounges too.

I've been alright, Fallen. I've begun a detail with another office at work where I'll be processing FOIA requests, which is cool. And I found a place that both my brother and I can both agree on, although it's a little small. I'm glad things are going well on your end.

I forget, weren't there some humans who were perfectly okay with being taken over by Yeerks?
Not exactly, but there was a Yeerk Human Liberation movement where the humans worked in unison with their Yeerks, and willingly remained their hosts while they were trying to end the war. It's not that they were okay with it, but they did understand the Yeerks side of it and were willing to work together with them. I'm certain they wanted to be free some day though. But yeah, there was a major character who was friends with his Yeerk and was one of the leaders of the resistance.A 1000% spike in activity? Wow, I guess we don't have to worry about the show being cancelled anytime soon.

Yeah, Andromeda is heading for you. You got over 9000 years until it collides.

I am almost certain there were some hosts who were still in control... Those might have been them.
Also, Didn't David have like... the worst punishment of anyone in the series? He was trapped in Rat form in an island, by himself... then he managed to escape, only for it to happen again?

@Enlong While the ones who weren't willing were placed in cages, there was a spot where the willing ones could relax.
EDIT: Gingerninja'd
I just remember the group infiltrating a base and seeing lounges for humans to relax in while they wait to willingly have a Yeerk put in them
That was just the hosts being pragmatic. You could either scream and fight pointlessly whenever you regained control of your body, or you could take the opportunity to actually relax for a while. And the whole point of The Sharing was to get hosts to willingly accept infestation, but they did so not fully understanding what would happen.

I'm not sure why, but I can help but wince at that picture, Chad. Even though I know that she's probably not in pain as she's filing away so nonchalantly.

Can Yeerks and their hosts communicate with each other?

The Yeerk can read the hosts memories, so they must be able to read their thoughts as well. They must be able to talk back, too, since they can communicate in spite of their true form not having a mouth...
@Kegisak:After he escaped, Rachel was given the opportunity to either trap him again or kill him outright. She refused to tell the audience what her choice was, but David was never seen again. I'm thinking she killed him.One of my favorite parts of Animorphs: The group spent several days using brilliant, complex plans to attempt to infiltrate the meeting of several Heads of State, only to be completely undone every time by the Yeerks preparations, while at the same time dealing with David. Eventually they just said SCREW IT, morphed into a bunch of elephants, and tore the hotel to shreds so the event would have to be cancelled. They definitely can talk to each other. Both Jake and Cassie were infested at different points in the book and they spoke continuously with their Yeerks.

Ah, right. I guess my memories of some of the books are a blur.
...man I wish I still had my collection of the books. I donated most of them to a kid my mom knew. I only really kept The Ellimist Chronicles and The Beginning.
David: He got trapped in rat form and abandoned on an island for his betrayal. In one late book, he formed a pact with Crayak, who gave him his human form again, and had him attempt to tempt Rachel to evil (or, well, to embrace her bloodlust, basically). Rachel managed to overcome the temptation. And so, at the end of the book, David, now in rat form again, effectively begs Rachel to kill him instead of leaving him on the island again. We never find out what she decided.
I have a message from another time...

We are. But it's related! We're using the Yeerks as a parallel with the Changelings, do discuss morality.
