But IS the love drain detrimental?
@kegi See, there ya go. I TRY to be positive and then you have to get all clever on me

Okay, now I wanna know if the changelings can survive on something else.
As for Fluttershy, I got the appearance that she was too weak so they decided to ignore her. But now that I think back on it, you're right. She was (half-heartily) pretending to be a changeling.

Is it said that ONLY love works? I'm sure it's all emotions.

Wait, what? They showed Vinyl's eyes? How in the hell did I miss that?! D:

If they love the taste of love, why in the world would they love the taste of hate or other negative emotions? I don't know, a relationship with a changeling and a pony would just be kind of creepy unless the eating love thing wasn't the only way for them to survive.

The internet is the realm of chaos, but not all chaos is evil.
The love drain may have some negative effects if they take to much. I mean, it's gotta feel basically like a giant freak out, or a moment of passion - you're just burnt out afterwords. So if they took to much it could exhaust the host, like Chrysalis did to SA.
Well, I don't think the changelings need to feed on love to survive. There was apparently an entire army of them chilling out somewhere for who knows how long with no ill effects.
@kegi What the fuck do you mean
NOTHING YOU CAN DO!!!!!!

@Crow Maybe they can store emotions like the monsters do with screaming/laughter in Monsters Inc. Maybe their reserves ran out and they needed more?

You know what, if those thing menage to breake 4th wall they will feed on our love for this show. (And this episode).
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.
I want to believe the animators were just lazy okay?! D: (I never thought I would say that seriously...)
And I just saw Vinyl. It's in 480, so I couldn't see well, but I can see them. They look purple or pinkish...
