Public Key Cryptography? IDK what kind of thingy it would be. We're using modulars and primes to figure it out. I find it kind of confusing, but thankfully, we only have to understand WHY and it works versus how to actually use it to code and decode stuff. We only spent one day on the topic XD

Yes. We were using relatively low primes- 31 and 53 or something like that to code too. I'm glad the NSA and CIA use professional people for that sort of thing. Because if I saw an actual code, I would cry

I'm interested in such crypto, but have need to learn some of the prereq skills before I can really pick it up.
I wish I still had time to study for my test tonight, but I must go to bed...

That's what I'm doing. Or more like review. I don't think I'll do great on my quiz tomorrow, but I don't think I'll fail. I'm still trying to understand the specifics of Euler's Theorem. I remember the formula though, so I guess that's a start

Ahhh, so it is RSA. I figured it probably was, since it's the only commonly used encryption scheme that is simple and easy to explain.
Anyway, you should never code crypto yourself, because it is almost impossible to get right, especially once you start worrying about sidechannel attacks. It's much safer to use premade library that was checked by experts.

Anyway, it sounds like you're studying number theory. Have you heard of PROMYS? It's really cool because it is designed to give you a much more fundamental understanding of number theory compared to what you would learn in school. Though unfortunately, I forgot half of it.
