I personally think the eighth season is rather underrated. Though the series finale was terrible.

I think it was pretty clear that it jumped the shark when they got rid of the main characters and started following irrelevant side characters.

Well considering the development hell that went through I was just happy we got some resolution when it was all over.
Still better then the atrocities of the sixth and ninth seasons.
