Okay, if you want an example that isn't Rashomon style, how about The Usual Suspects? All the flashbacks in that movie were pulled straight out of Keyser Soze's ass.

If a flashback is being narrated by someone, then there is always the chance that it is at least partially bullshit.

Also keep in mind with flashbacks that information being provided that they can't possibly know could be something they're making assumptions about, citing second hand, misremembering or just plain making up. Because I have a really good memory, I have noticed people do this in real life. I've had to correct half a story for people before. In short, unreliable narration occurs in real life and not always on purpose. Pinkie's story seems rather suspect, so I would find it very believable if her bizarre way of thinking caused her to misremember and make assumptions to fill in any gaps.

I see people saying Pinkie's flashback contradicts with "Giggle at the Ghostly". It should be noted that no where in the song does Pinkie say she was raised by her grandmother.

What, did none of you visit your grandparents when you were little and the sun was going down? Or vice versa?

Also remember in Cutie Mark Chronicles Pinkie said she learned how to smile. She said nothing about learning how to be fearless and laugh your fears away.

^Exactly. There's no reason to assume that Granny Pie never visited, and it's not like a rock farm needs intensive tending at certain times.

As far as the rock farm itself goes, crazy Discord theory from a few pages back aside, consider in the same episode Rarity finds a large rock with a bunch of perfectly cut gems in them. Inside those rocks on the farm could me more gems/gold/etc, which the Pies harvest and sell to market.

That it exists? No. The idea that I'm following people I don't remember existing was troubling.

Though I figured out pretty quickly that the reason was because that person used to be Mayor Mare, but switched.

I think people get a bit too caught up in Epileptic Trees sometimes - I have heard people say that because Ditzy Doo's mane was miscolored in one scene in Winter Wrap Up she is a different character than Derphy Hooves (who looks exactly like him including cutie mark save for the color of her mane).

Similarly, I don't see why you'd have a reason to doubt Pinkie's backstory. That'd need that the writers have a motive to start to retcon themselves. Attributing her talking about her grandma to some sort of creator grand plan is just silly.

It´s just the "And that´s how Equestria was made" line that throws her story into a bit of doubt (for me at least)

The only thing to me that clashes about the grandmother thing is that in Cutie Mark Chronicles, Pinkie talks about how she had a joyless existence up until the rainbow that made her want to party all the time, while in "Giggle at the Ghostly", she talks about how her grandmother taught her to laugh. It's not necessarily a contradiction, but it is a little hard to resolve in my head.

That still no reason to asume that what hapen in flashback was not true horever I can agree we can asume that what she was teling can be not true.

It's because many fans don't like Ditzy Doo name so they prefer her being seperate pony from Derpy Hooves.

Isn't it possible that her grandmother taught her to laugh at her fears after she got her Cutie Mark? She was still a "little filly."
