Yup. Avatar's an old-timey actor. Specifically, George Grossmith in the role of John Wellington Wells, the title role in Gilbert & Sullivan's The Sorcerer. He originated a lot of the "comic baritone" roles in their operas, including the Modern Major General.

My trouble with adult-oriented cartoons is they're usually crappily animated Flash things. Although I do like South Park.

Sorry to keep dragging the topic back to the Ask Pinkamena Blog, but has anyone noticed how Ask Pinkamena Diane Pie and Pinkie's Question Party are practically polar opposites of each other?. The Pinkie blog's humor is silly, lighthearted and innocent, the Pinkamena blog's humor is morbid, dark and twisted. The Pinkie blog's visuals are bright and colorful, the Pinkamena's visuals are dark and creepy. Pinkie's character is childish, hyperactive and happy, Pinkamena's character is psychotic, quiet and emo. What's funny is that these 2 are probably the most popular Ask Blogs

Aw man, I finally got suckered into checking Ask Pinkamina.

Well, it's weird. It's quite macabre, but then there're some cute (albeit really disturbing) moments. Mixed in among the regular really disturbing moments. And I have to say, whoever's writing Pinkamina's doing a fantastic job - there's such a presence of character there.

I think the twisted atmosphere and material makes the cute moments stand out more. How can you not d'awwww at least a little at this?◊

^I would say the fact that Scootaloo's covered in blood, but that seems too obvious.

Season 2 spoilers mention 7th element of harmony.

Now here's the thing, I always wondered if there was any complicated decision making behind choosing the original five elements, like, some sort of psychological theory or something, or they were just chosen based on the characters and the plot. There are a lot more that could have worked - say, "Respect", "Forgiveness", "Trust" etcetra.

Actually if I was writing the pilot my choice would be Forgiveness. A fitting way for the show to handle the baddie and a nice lesson in how to persevere when friendships fall apart, eh?
