@Orion: would ponies even have the metallurgy and engineering needed to acheive nonmagical space travel? Enchanted space travel is easy with environment spells and some to travel really, really far quickly, as well as re-entry shields or something.

True, but it'd still take some creativity to come with magical solutions to some of the problems of space travel. I expect the end result to be vaguely magitech in nature. At least I doubt magic-powered computers would be disrupted by normal cosmic rays.

In the distant future, we will both be in-laws (I'm married to Sweetie while Crow has Rarity)
