Doesn't the word "chivalry" have the same roots as the word "cavalry", as in horse-riders? That reminds me of the My Little Pony Tales episode with a French pony named Cheval—basically, his name is Horse.

I'm fond of the idea that earth pony magic is mainly about luck manipulation. Shady and Clover were ponies who became aware of this enough to let it bother them. And this supports the idea that Twinkle Wish was able to grant wishes by exploiting the magical abilities of the wisher, where everyone besides Sweetie Belle wasn't wishing for anything impossible, only for luck to bend in their favor.
